Halloween 2026

We had a great Halloween here at Frost-Vandrey house. Hubby, the twins and I went trick or treating while Papa stayed home to hand out candy. Papa, the twins and I went around the bigger loop while Hubby stayed home to hand out candy. The twins had a great time picking candy out. Gremlin managed to learn to just grab one piece, and Piranha was very nervous to even grab one, but she loved smiling at everyone. Gremlin was Little Red Riding Hood and Piranha was Alice in Wonderland. Hubby was the Big Bad Wolf, Papa was Shrek, and I was White Rabbit (though I did not put enough effort into my costume). All that fresh air helped the twins fall asleep pretty well too, which was a huge bonus.
We had a great set up as well. A really fun inflatable scary train, some caution tape, and the twins made the best spooky pumpkins (we used stickers this year). I think the most fun thing we did was the sticker pumpkins with the twins. We also hit up a ton of trunk-or-treat events leading up to Halloween. Honestly, I’m still not a fan. I prefer going up to the houses. There were hordes of kids at the trunks and it was like standing in an assembly line. The twins didn’t like having to stand and wait and wait. At least with houses you can choose to skip one and go back when a ton of kids aren’t there. I’ll probably still go to some just because I like an excuse for the twins to wear their over-priced costumes for more than one day, but I think house to house is still the way to go. The twins had fun practicing their walking and hopefully next year they’ll be able to say “trick or treat” on their own!
Next year I’m going to make sure I actually put effort into my costume. I just have to wait for the twins to choose what they want to be first. I’ve always wanted to do family costumes!! Now, I leave my Halloween stuff up for another week or so, then start on Christmas. BTW… I don’t appreciate going into stores before Halloween even hits and being assaulted by Christmas music -_-. Looking at you Bath & Body Works….
