Life Update

No one tells you how much work being a parent, especially to twins, is! I’ve been trying to soak up all the baby time I can with my little miracle twinkies! We got to enjoy some summer hail the other day. Haven’t seen hail that large in a long while. Was almost worried about my vehicles.
Traveling Journal has been stalled at the moment. We are doing a reset because communication has not been great and somewhere a journal didn’t get sent and someone ended up with more than one journal, while another never got one. It’s been a crazy thing, and also taking time out of my life. I’ve not had any time to write or do much author stuff because if I’m not trying to keep up with journals, I’m trying to keep up with babies.
On Thursdays I run a table top roll playing game (ttrpg) called Vampire the Masquerade. I even ran an event at Crypticon a couple weeks ago! Had 7 players at one point for a really fun “clue”-like session. It was a lot of fun getting ready for that. I had to create pre-made character sheets, maps and have dice on hand.

My wonderful hubs helped me create the map (above) that I used for the session. I told him I wanted an abandoned train station, and since his specialty is trains, he had a blast helping me. My partner came to Crypticon with me and helped me run the session both playing, and assisting the new players. We had a great time, and the group even completed their objective!!! This has also been taking time from life as I do run an on-going game every Thursday at my local game shop (LGS).
On top of that, I’m helping hubs at a train show this weekend. We have a side business, Frosty’s Trains & Toys, that we attend this train show as vendors and sell model trains as well as some toys. It’s only twice a year, but like everything else I do, I procrastinate and wait until last minute to get everything together. This time it’s right before the twins’ 1st birthday. So, on top of the show, I’m trying to get everything ready for their big day!
Twinkies will be 1 in a few days, and this Mama isn’t ready. No one honestly prepares you for the Big 1! I’m not doing a party for them since they won’t remember. I’m going to take them to their favorite play place, take them to get their $1 Build-A-Bear, and then we will do cake and presents at home. I got a cute balloon display for picture, and little hats for their stuffies to wear. Our photographer friend is coming over to take pictures for me! I’m even making a fairly healthy cake since the Twinkies haven’t had a lot of sugar yet, and I’m trying to build healthy habits with them.
Then, the next weekend, Partner and I are going to see Black Veil Brides! They’re one of my favorite bands, and I’m so stoked they will be in KC. Hubs got me tickets, and will stay home with Twinkies so Partner and I can go enjoy the concert. Not to worry though because a few days later my Partner will be staying home with Twinkies while Hubs and I go see Rob Zombie! Hubs and I saw Evanescence last month, and now we’re apparently on a concert kick. I’ve never been to so many concerts in my life. But yea… life is a bit busy.
On a fun not… I have another new story idea. I don’t know if anything will come of it, but it is a Horror story. I’m not a horror reader. I don’t like horror movies. The only horror thing I do is VtM. Well… had an idea and we’re gonna see what happens. Maybe nothing, maybe another book. Anyway… I’m trying to get some authoring done now that the Twinkies are a little more independent. But, I’m also much more interested in spending time with them and catching as many moments and making as many memories with them as I can.
