It’s Called BadCon….

**UPDATE** I was informed by the event space owners that the people that put on this event did not settle up on their bill, and left the event space unpaid. Just so you are aware, this event space was at a CHURCH. These people didn’t pay A CHURCH!!! I will not be attending in the future, and I will steer others away as well. I refuse to do business with people that don’t pay their bills, and ghost. So very rude!

This past weekend, my PA and I attending a brand new ComicCon in Missouri called: BadCon. It was a first time event… it was very apparent. There was not a lot of promotion for said event, even with myself and a few of the vendors doing all we could. There were some really awesome celebs there that I got to talk to a bit… since they were right behind me. That was cool, and I felt bad for them because the turn out for the event was fairly slim. First time event hiccups. I did get to meet some pretty cool people. Unfortunately, I also seemed to have caught a tummy bug, so I didn’t feel 100% during the event either. In fact, I still haven’t unpacked the Author-mobile.

The event definitely has potential to be pretty great. The space was small, but good small. It was a more intimate Con than something huge like Planet Comicon KC. There was a nice variety of vendors from 3D printing, comics, toys, books, spices, and social media presence. I got to make some new friends, and I’ll be going to another event in that same space in a month, so it was nice to be able to see what that space feels like, and what I’ll need in the future. Like a table cloth.

I did manage to sell a couple books, and a couple trinkets. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t the turn out hoped for to make a lot of revenue. A lot of the “shoppers” were the other vendors walking around. With my stomach ache as well as there not being any people in over 2 hours, I did end up packing up early to go home with about 1/2 the other vendors. I do hope that this Con can gain some speed and be better next year!
