Nothing like New Ink!

I’ve been on an ink kick recently. Before my last tattoo which was only a couple weeks ago, it had been YEARS since I got some ink. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted, and my favorite artist (pictured above) is all the way in NY while I live in Kansas. I’m not someone that just gets a tattoo for no reason. All my tattoos have a meaning and are all special in some way. On May 13th, there was a tattoo convention in Kansas and I was desperate to get some new ink. I knew what I wanted and it was a fairly simple design.

After this tattoo I was determined to get another one as soon as possible. Tattoos are expensive, but I have been saving for one for a long time. I knew I would need money for something bigger. Knowing that I would be heading to NY for a few days, I got ahold of my favorite artist and begged him to find time to do a tattoo. He asked me what I was looking for. I’m not someone that wants to stifle creativity, so I sent him a picture of what I was looking for and let him do the rest. I knew where I wanted it and he gave me a price that was definitely reasonable. I decided on the upper thigh on my right. The only problem I encountered was not understanding the amount of pain the upper thigh has. I’ve heard that the rib cage hurts, but my thigh hurt like HELL! This is my 10th tattoo. I’ve had ink placed in “painful” spots (not the rib cage… I’ll never be brave enough for that). None of them even compare to the pain from the upper thigh. I almost had to call it when he was at the end. He managed to get it finished for me, and now the area is bruising slightly. I love the work and I will (someday) get the other thigh done. Just know… upper thigh hurts!
