The last weekend of June I had my last(ish) event for the year. With the twins getting bigger in my belly, this was a difficult event for me. The girls very much enjoyed kicking me basically the entire event, and it’s to the point that when they kick, a hand on my belly can feel it.
That leads me to my next point… people touching me without asking. I had a couple people come up and touch me without asking, and this is after I made sure to post in the group that I required permission before being touched as I was very uncomfortable and wasn’t in the mood to be having hands on me. One person had the audacity to state “I don’t need permission.” Then touched my tummy and got all up in my personal space. I was also nursing a cold, so I didn’t want people near my face. I stated that “everyone needs permission”, to which the person said she didn’t and continued to keep touching me. It made me very upset, and it threw me off for the rest of the event. I didn’t do well in sales at all and was ready to be done.

I did manage to enjoy seeing some of my Author friends, and going to the ball that was later after the event. I “wobble, baby wobble” a bit too much on the dance floor, but I had a really good time until the twins decided that I had enough movement for them. I was lucky to connect with a couple readers and I was real grateful for those that did take a chance to purchase one of my books. My hubs and I made this into a Baby Moon trip, and enjoyed the city of New Orleans other than the event. We saw a ton of things, and plan to go back again after the twins are born and I’m not hauling around a prego belly. I hope all my author friends did well at the event even though I didn’t. I know my sitting because of being prego hindered me a bit as well since I didn’t have the energy to get up and really engage.
