So! It’s been a little bit since I started playing VtM on discord and our once weekly in-person meet ups, and I tell ya… It’s been a RIDE! For starters, my character got an upgrade in hotness scale. More on that in a bit.
So, I don’t know much of the back story of this game. I’ve been slowly reading my monsterly huge book on it, but it’s slow going. The RPG aspect of this has gotten me addicted, and I’m constantly on discord trying to find ways to get into the story. So, to start… I’ve already almost been dusted. We were in a church and my character (as well as another) were trying to save this human. We ended up getting into a fight with some Hunters. Now, my character isn’t made for fighting. Especially since I’m new and didn’t know how to spend the XPs and what all she needed. So, she was screwed from the beginning. She was the recipient of not 1, but 2 silver stakes dipped in holy water. Both attacks that were dodged by the vampire they were meant for, but somehow my character was just a magnet. So, she got pretty hurt in that fight. Luckily, she did not die because I really didn’t want to start over after only like 2 weeks…. She did manage to snag a crossbow that was still housing a stake on her way out, so yay!
After spending a few days healing, which was soooo annoying cuz she couldn’t do much as far as going about the city and whatnot, she started hanging out with her friend Keiran. She confided in him about some things, has a little crush on him, so ya know. Nothing crazy. She gets called on to be part of another mission (less dangerous), to which she jumps on the chance. (To be honest, I needed the XP, and I really am trying to get a lot more active in the game with the other players). The mission was going fairly well actually. Nothing super dangerous. My character is a kind of a voice of reason in some parts, then naturally she gets noticed by the CEO of Spotify. (My character is an up and coming singer). She’s also a Toreador, which means she’s pretty. This is where things went sideways….
Her leader that she was standing with when she met said CEO just kind of lets her walk off with the guy. So she’s stuck with the essential stranger in this weird temple thing on a mission that she’s still very new to doing. While she does all she can to stall for time, hoping someone from the group will realize she’s kind of missing and go look for her, eventually she either has to do a ritual with this guy as well, or risk getting staked and blowing the teams cover. So, she does the ritual which gives her the hotness boost, and also activates her clan’s bane… which is to get fixated on pretty things. In this case it’s the CEO. So she ends up leaving the temple place with this dude, and not one of her teammates notice until she’s basically out the door. Well, of course it’s a magical door, and she ends up in NYC. (The storyline for our group takes place in Kansas City…so…. yea…). So, my character is now “lost”. She knows where she is, but no one else besides the Story Teller does.
The part that is currently making her salty… no one came looking for her (at least in her mind). It took her friend, Keiran, almost 3 days to realize she hasn’t been around. In that time none of the team did much to look for her. (Not that she knows that part either). In her mind, they literally forgot about her in that temple. They forgot she was with the group because she’s so new, and they just kind of brushed her off. She’s a bit angry. BUT, she did get “rescued”. She’s now back in KC, and pissy. Her poor friend, Keiran, is getting the brunt of that. However, it did lead to some rather fun scenes with the two of them and even a nice love-ish triangle. Because I’m a romance author and I needed something familiar to write about. It was helpful because while I was “missing” I couldn’t really rp, so I’ve been lacking in gaining XP. Gained a good amount yesterday!!!
Anyway… that’s the current update. I’m excited to see where this goes now. I kind of want her to become a spy, and go back to that temple and spy on those people. We’ll see… things never go the way I think, so who knows!
