Arkansas was a SUCCESS!

Did a lovely Author Event in Arkansas this past weekend. Book Me Romance was the name and it was the first time for this event! I was skeptical at first, and decided to not hold any expectations. I went with my friend, and PA, Cyndall. I also attended because my author buddy, Sharon signed up. I’m not usually one to like being on the end at an event. I’m not “well known” enough to pull in readers. For whatever reason, the event was a great success for me! I got to interact and meet a bunch of new readers. Even those that didn’t purchase from me, or were not interested in my work, I still got to talk and chat with people. I love being chatty and making new friends. I’m one of those authors that will point you in the direction you need if what I have isn’t your cup of tea. I am all about helping my fellow authors gain new readers as well. I sent a few to my friend Sophie, and then a couple to my buddy Sharon. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I really loved this event, and am looking forward to attending next year as well.
The only downside for me was my hotel, and that is not any fault to the event. I didn’t stay at the event hotel, but at one hubs found for me. Hubs and I are both in agreement that I won’t be staying there next time.

Hanging out with Cyndall for the drive down and the weekend was much needed. I don’t have a lot of friends in my area. Most of my friends live pretty far away. I have Sharon (shown photo-bombing this picture) and now I also have Cyndall. Both women live a good 45+ minute drive away, but it’s closer that most of my other friends who live in other states… like New York, Florida, Texas, and South Dakota. A girl’s weekend was so much fun!! Both of us did good too because we didn’t buy a single book this trip. It was hard, but my TBR bookshelves (yes, I have multiple shelves of books I still need to read) is a bit too much for me to justify more books right now.
So, now I’m getting ready for the next signing in Tennessee, as well as another book release in October!! An author’s life is never dull, that’s for sure!
