Yup, that’s right! More drama in the Book world! This one is targeting a specific genre of books. Not just one author, but an entire group. Those that write Dark Romance and Taboo Romance.
Now… neither of those genre’s is my specific cup of tea, but I don’t discriminate. Just because I don’t read it doesn’t mean that others shouldn’t. I have a lot of friends that write in both genres, and a BUNCH of friends that read them. I enjoy hearing from people what they like about the genres and who got them hooked. At one point I was completely against reading BDSM because I just never read a story that got me hooked enough to find the genre interesting… until I read a story that did. This is the same idea. I’ve not read a dark romance, or a taboo romance that catches my fancy, but that doesn’t mean that I think no one should read it.
This takes me back to the banning of books. Someone somewhere believes that they are high and mighty ad what they say should be the law. Those people need a good swift kick in the naughty bits and a slap across the face. Just because YOU don’t like something, doesn’t mean you have a right to tell others what to think. If you don’t like it, move on. Keep scrolling, walk past that section in the bookstore. NO ONE should have final say in what others are allowed to read, or what should be sold for people to read.
This new drama is based around some people that have decided that dark romance and taboo romance should be completely banned from sale sites like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. That just really pi$$es me off. You people have nothing better to do than to spend all day playing telephone tough guy and putting in report after report so these genre authors get their books removed. And for what? All because you specifically don’t like the genre? Get a freaking life! If you are that bored, come over to my place and I’ll put you to work. I have a few friends that own farms who need people to pick up piles of shit since that’s what you want to do anyways. Spend your time spewing piles of shit just to make someone else’s life more difficult.
Anyways, that little rant is over. I stand with all authors and whatever they choose to write. Even if I, personally, don’t read their work. No one should have the authority to ban books of any kinds. This “cancel culture” sh!t needs to stop. If you are so adamant about “canceling” something, let’s start with something important… like taxes, or the price of gas, or women having to actually pay ridiculous amounts for freaking tampons. Leave book world alone. Get a life. Stop being jealous because your life is apparently so boring you need to attack others. I’m gonna go find some good dark romances and taboo romances and start featuring them in my newsletter. I’ll fight back against this drama llama.
