Let’s Write a Thriller

I’m trying something completely out of the ballpark for me. I’m a paranormal romance author. I’ve dabbled in contemporary romance. Due to recent things happening in my personal life, I’ve needed an outlet for some of the stuff that is making me go, what the f*ck. So, I came up with a story idea…
It’s a thriller. A story of a widower that is being stalked by a crazy woman after his money and his pain meds. There’s a lot of personal references that will be exaggerated for sure.

I’ve never done thriller, or anything close to this genre of writing. I’m going to be reaching out to the few friends I have that write in the genre to get some help with specifics. Usually I’m a plan-ser when it comes to writing. I plan a little, then pants the rest. This story though, I’m going to also dabble in full planning. Since it’s a story idea that doesn’t follow my norm, and it’s not a romance in any way, I think I’m going to need the back up of a good plan to make it work. I’m really excited to dive into this new story and see where it goes… after I finish up a couple other projects first. I have time to kind of figure this out. I’m also dabbling with the idea of creating a new author name for this project so that it is completely separate from my romance persona. I’m wanting to be fun and creative for this. I don’t know if this will be a one time thing or not, so I’m going to make it enjoyable.
