It’s been a long time coming, but I have finally started on Book 3 titled: The Witch’s Spell.
This is the actual 3rd book in the 5 Witches Series. The Witch’s Coven is technically book 0.5 or 1.5… it takes place in the middle of book 1. Anyways! Book 3 follows the story of Salem Luck, the Water Witch for the Starlight Coven. Here is a sample blurb (it may not be the final blurb, but you get the idea):
Salem Brandy Luck has given in to her fight or flight, and chose to fly… to Ireland. Her premonition ability hasn’t been working in months, and with a new water wielder in the coven, she’s not feeling very needed. Determined to feel like she can do something to help her best friends, she goes to her cousin in Ireland and sets out to find the one witch that started this mess… Aria.
Killian O’Shea is just a pub owner in Dublin that happens to meet one of his bar tenders’ cousins on one of the busiest nights. Now weird sh!t keeps happening, and he can’t seem to figure out why. Coming from an unknown past, Killian is now faced with folklore and fairytales as he gets thrown into the world of magic. His brain is telling him to run, but his heart is demanding he fight against the evil in his beloved country.
This story takes place in Ireland, so that alone has been an interesting conflict when it comes to writing. Did you know that it’s very very difficult to write an Irish accent? Because I do… I’m almost tempted to just write it all in English, but since I’m now more than 3 chapters into writing, I’m going to try and keep it. This story also is set up a little different than the other 2 books. As far as how the chapters are set, that’s the same. It goes Girl MC (Main Character), Boy MC, supporting character (SC), repeat. Now usually the SC’s part of the story has them with the MC and they contribute to the main storyline! The way this story line is set up, the SC’s will not be actively in Ireland for a while (so, spoil alert?). It does help with the writers block as my SC’s are usually the ones holding up the story progress. I’m able to skip those chapters and keep going with the MCs without worrying about having to catch something up. It’s helping with the flow, and I know exactly how this story is going to play out. Some of the details are a little fuzzy, and connecting one event to the next has been causing issues.
I refuse to give a release date. It took me over 2 years to write book 1, and 4 years to write book 2. I would hate to say “It’ll be done next year!” and then it takes years to happen. Would I love to get it done faster than the others? Absolutely! Is that realistic for me? No…
