The event this past weekend in Salem, MA was very fun. I was a Sunday signing author, so it was not very busy for me. I sold a few books besides my pre-orders, but mostly people were just on the hunt for their charm and then were on their way. I had maybe one or two sales because of the charms, but it’s definitely something I probably won’t partake in again. My new release was the most popular. I sold 6 of them at the event. I knew going in that it wasn’t going to be a super success because Saturday was so jam-packed. A lot of people had also already commented that they hadn’t planned to go Sunday. It is what it is. I enjoyed getting to see some old Author friends, as well as meet new friends and readers!

Honestly, I had a ton of fun walking around Salem with the hubs and my best friend that drove down from NY. We did some shopping, exploring and eating. I’m not upset about the trip. It’s why we made it into a mini-vacation. I wasn’t banking on making a ton of sales, though I would be remiss if I wasn’t a tad disappointed. I was hoping to get a few more sales in with my witch books since I was in Witch City. However, I did meet a ton of locals! I got my name out there in some kind of aspect. I even made a new bestie!!! His name is Phil. He works at probably the COOLEST shop in Salem: Blackcraft Cult. It’s this super amazing shop right on Essex St. It used to be an old bank, and I tell ya, the aesthetics are BEAUTIFUL! I got to hang with the bestie, Patrick! We went to some really fun places. I got to go to a ball, and feel pretty! It was a good time for me. I think the most frustrating part was the Saturday authors who complained about being “so busy”. Like, I’ll trade. Hubs had to help me re-arrange the car since I came home with more books than I brought… tell me how that makes sense….
Will I do that event again? Unfortunately, probably not. It was a really long drive (24 hours) that I had to do solo. It also was a lot of money. My plan for work (I’m a teacher, remember), is to only take this year off. So, I should be working during next year’s event. Would I do it again if I could? Yes. I love Salem! I also love AAP (Anytime Author Promotions) events. The people that run it are AMAZING!
