Since I have been on too many road trips to actually be fun, I’ve had to unpack and pack a backpack any time I want to go write somewhere that isn’t my house. I’ve been going to my local Starbucks (which is super helpful in focusing). Right now I use my old teacher backpack. When I have to suddenly travel somewhere, that same backpack is used for flights because it fits a lot and is still functional. So, I invested in an Author Backpack! This will be solely used for my authoring. I won’t have to pack and unpack it. It is only meant for author stuff like computer, holding extra swag and whatnot. It’s not super big, but I did get to design the front to Pimp myself!!

I also invested in a lightweight jacket. It gets chilly at signings sometimes, and it’s freezing when i go to Starbucks. This thing is super thin, but again, I got to design the emblem on the jacket to help Pimp myself. I don’t intend to sell these to people, they are just for me to have. They help me feel like I really am an author and I also needed a way to get my name out there without having to hound people when I meet them. I am hoping they help bring up conversation like, “Oh! You’re an author?” Kind of like a nice ice breaker if you will.

Of course, this also means I had to pimp my car! I made a super cute front plate for my Author-mobile. Since Kansas doesn’t require front plates, but there is a front plate holder on the new jeep, I wanted to do something fun. It was pretty cheep to make and got here super quick. It looks so adorable on the jeep, though in the future, if I do decide to create a new one once this one has faded or whatever, I think I’ll make the lettering a little bigger!
Do you do these kinds of things? Do you get your name out there subtly? If you think I’m being ridiculous with my personal swag, then this is not the blog for you. LOL I’m very proud of creating and having my own things.
