Ever really wonder what an author’s bookshelf looks like? I have 7 bookshelves in my house. Overflowing with a plethora of books. In fact, the one in my guest bedroom is only filled with YA and child appropriate books. My office houses all the spicy, and the living room has a variety. I don’t have one in my bedroom because the pile that is by my bed makes my husband hesitant to buy another for me to fill. This isn’t even talking about the 3 totes of books I have for my classroom (I’m a teacher).

I also currently have 2 whole shelves of author signed books. I actually don’t even have the ones from the last event I attended up yet. They’re still in a pile in my living room. I am an avid reader, and I 100% prefer in-hand copies of books over e-books. Don’t get me wrong, I have a ton of those too, and I get the ease of having e-books. Much easier to travel with a library that fits in your pocket for sure. However, when it comes to events, I am one that will spend way too much money on new books that an author signs!
I’m also a sucker for saying yes when it comes to books. I used to be a car salesman (saleswoman?) and am very well versed in how to sell something for people to buy. When it comes to books though, I’m definitely the naive buyer that will pay pretty much any price for the book you just talked up. It might take me time to read it, as I have quite a few on my TBR pile. I’ve read one of those shelves and haven’t been able to get to the other shelf yet… That’s also (again) not including the books from the last event I went to. There are probably 10 more books to add to those shelves. In fact, I definitely need another bookshelf.
Are you someone that collects books? I collect many things, but books are definitely my favorite thing to collect. Hubs promised to build me a Beauty and the Beast bookshelf when we remodel the living room. Until then, I’ll just keep piling books up!
