I know that a lot of Authors listen to some jams when writing. My music is dependent on what I’m writing. For instance, “The Witch’s Savior” had an entire playlist on Amazon Music when I was writing it. I had one specific song I listened to on loop when I was writing the fight scene! Below is one of the songs I used on loop for part of that novel! It really spoke to me! I always imagined if my book was ever made into a movie (dreaming here), that this song would be at the exact scene I used to write. It’s totally wishful thinking, but even when I hear this song, that scene immediately pops into my head.
When I was writing “Finders Keepers” I was really into the show “Wednesday”, and the instrumental music from that is what helped me get through some of the intense parts of that novel. I found a really fun song on FaceBook Reels that is Viking-esque. I really loved the vocals and it reminded me of High School when I was in the Chamber Singers group singing harmony with my friends. It also helped me get into the mindset of my character being ready to fight for what he believes in. I’ve also put that song below as well. Just to give you an idea of how my writing process works. I have to really that YouTube because it saves the songs I listen to on loop and creates mixes for me. I am now working on the music I’ll need for “The Witch’s Spell” with is book 3 in the 5 Witches Series!
Do you do that same thing? Do you have specific playlists for stories you are writing? Or are you one of those people that that needs silence when you write? Do you just have a TV going with a show you’ve watched 5 million times so you don’t need to actually pay attention to it? What helps you write?! I NEED TO KNOW!!!
